  • Paléobiodiversité et évolution des forêts néotropicales au cours de l'Holocène sous l'effet de forçages naturels (climat, volcanisme) et anthropiques.
  • Économies forestières précolombiennes (gestion des ressources en bois, économie du bois de chauffage, agriculture sur brûlis, arboriculture, agroforesterie) et adaptation à la dégradation des forêts.
  • Processus d'anthropisation en milieu néotropical.
  • Rôle du changement climatique et de la déforestation dans l'abandon des cités mayas des basses terres.
  • Usages du feu dans les pratiques rituelles mésoaméricaines.
