Diversité des sociétés de chasseurs-cueilleurs : variabilités environnementales, implantations humaines et usages des végétaux

Dans le cadre du GR SOCCA, un premier axe de recherches concerne les sociétés du grand froid, vivant dans des milieux assimilables à des toundras (sociétés du Dernier Maximum Glaciaire, sociétés du Tardiglaciaire des hautes latitudes ou altitudes). En Europe, en Asie Centrale et du Nord et en Béringie, les questionnements concernant les groupes du Pléistocène terminal portent principalement sur les modalités de restitution des environnements végétaux fréquentés par les humains (biodiversité, physionomie) et sur la question de la visibilité et du rôle des plantes dans les systèmes techno-économiques (combustibles et alimentation principalement). Dans ces milieux froids à forts contrastes saisonniers, les proxies archéobotaniques sont également mobilisés pour aborder la question des liens entre environnement local, peuplement, saisonnalité et nature des occupations.

Un second axe de recherches est focalisé sur l’émergence, l’évolution et la variabilité des sociétés mésolithiques. Il questionne la place du végétal au cours du Mésolithique en Europe occidentale et centrale, notamment à travers les techniques en lien avec l’usage des matériaux ligneux (artisanat, bois d’œuvre) pour les sites de tourbières dans lesquels le bois est exceptionnellement bien préservé.

Des derniers chasseurs-cueilleurs aux sociétés de production : environnements et combustibles.

Dans le cadre du GR FORÊTS, nous nous intéressons à l’émergence et à l’évolution des écosystèmes forestiers et notamment, aux modalités de la mise en place des forêts tempérées et boréales. Une réflexion systémique est également menée sur les interrelations humains-forêts notamment à travers l’exploitation d’archives ethnoarchéologiques, ethnohistoriques et ethnographiques concernant des peuples autochtones vivant en contexte de forêt boréale (Évènki de Sibérie principalement).

Dans le cadre du GR IA-MAHA, je contribuerai aux questions concernant l’apport de l’AI pour discriminer des groupes d’espèces très proches en anthracologie, permettant une meilleure restitution des écosystèmes forestiers.

Dans le cadre du GR TRAP, de nouveaux travaux interdisciplinaires en bioarchéologie visent à comprendre les modes de vie des sociétés pastorales en Asie Centrale et à contextualiser leur développement dans les vallées et plateaux de haute et très haute altitude (Pamir).
