Controcampo Produzioni, en collaboration avec l’Université Ca’ Foscari de Venise et avec le soutien de la Région de Vénétie, a réalisé le docu-film « Panorami sommersi : les origines de Venise », écrit par Pierandrea Gagliardi et Samuele Gottardello, et réalisé par Samuele Gottardello. Les découvertes récentes placent la lagune de Venise parmi les zones archéologiques les plus importantes d’Europe et confirment que, dès l’époque romaine, elle fut le théâtre d’intenses activités portuaires, commerciales et résidentielles. Le film documentaire « Panorami sommersi : les origines de Venise » explore les mondes et les histoires liés à cette fascinante réalité submergée – des recherches pionnières d’Ernesto « Tito » Canal jusqu’aux projets les plus récents menés par la Surintendance et l’Université. Cette quête obstinée de recherche et de reconstruction de vérités scientifiques est aussi une histoire d’hommes et de rêves. C’est cet esprit qui anime « Panorami sommersi : les origines de Venise ». Une expérience unique qui permet de découvrir la lagune la moins connue et la moins fréquentée comme un incubateur fertile de civilisations, de récits, d’expériences, de milieux naturels – et de beauté. Trois années de travail, entre préparation et documentation, tournage, montage et création de la bande sonore. Le film rend hommage aux intuitions d’Ernesto « Tito » Canal et à tous ceux qui ont appris à « voir avec le cœur » avant même de voir avec les yeux.

Controcampo Produzioni, in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and with the support of the Veneto Region, has produced the docu-film “Submerged Panoramas: The Origins of Venice”, written by Pierandrea Gagliardi and Samuele Gottardello, and directed by Samuele Gottardello. Recent discoveries place the Venice Lagoon among the most important archaeological areas in Europe and confirm that, as early as the Roman period, it was the stage for intense port, commercial, and residential activities. The documentary film “Submerged Panoramas: The Origins of Venice” explores the worlds and stories connected to this fascinating submerged reality—from the pioneering research of Ernesto “Tito” Canal to the most recent projects carried out by the Soprintendenza and the University. This persistent pursuit of research and reconstruction of scientific truths is also a story of people and dreams. This is the material from which the film “Submerged Panoramas: The Origins of Venice” is made. A unique experience to discover the lesser-known and less-visited Lagoon as a fertile incubator of civilizations, stories, experiences, natural environments—and beauty. Three years of work, including preparation, documentation, filming, editing, and soundtrack creation. The film is a tribute to the insights of Ernesto “Tito” Canal and to all those who have learned to “see with the heart” before seeing with the eyes.
