Comment

Compositional etymology. The first member is the intensive prefix λα-, here glossed with λίαν, as usual, and the second member is assumed to be ἀΐσσω, from which only the initial /ai/ is kept. It is a descriptive etymology, which is possible only if we take λαῖτμα in the meaning "waves"
