I am a mass spectrometry specialist, working in the field since the 80’s. I currently run a spectrochemical and isotopic analysis facility in an oceanography laboratory in the south of France (https://lov.imev-mer.fr/web/facilities/asi/), to characterize matter with different mass spectrometry tools (GC-MS, EA-IRMS, GC-c-IRMS, LC-MS/MS). Combining isotopic analyses (δ13C, δ15N, bulk and Compound-Specific (CSIA) applied to amino acids and fatty acids) with other analytical tools on archeological samples should allow us to refine various processes influencing the live cycles of marine organisms, and particularly fishes exploited since prehistoric times by Mediterranean populations.
