The keynote speaker will be Fran\u00e7ois-Bernard M\u00e2che,<br \/>\nmusicologist and composer. There will be paper and poster<br \/>\npresentations, a final concert with contemporary music inspired by<br \/>\nAntiquity, and an excursion to Delphoi on Friday 15 July, for those<br \/>\nwho would be willing to stay on after the end of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Call for Papers<br \/>\nWe are now soliciting submissions for oral and poster presentations.<br \/>\nSpeakers are invited from all fields of enquiry \u2013 philology,<br \/>\narchaeology, musicology, computer science, zoology, musical acoustics,<br \/>\ntheatrology \u2013 to contribute to the theme of the conference. We welcome<br \/>\nsubmissions on the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>Description of animal voices (tonal and rhythmic aspects; audio<br \/>\nrepresentation)<br \/>\nClassification of animal species by their calls<br \/>\nAssociation of animal sounds with the seasons and agriculture<br \/>\nInfluence of human music on animals<br \/>\nAnimal parts in the construction of musical instruments<br \/>\nAnimals and semi-animals as musicians<br \/>\nAnimal calls imitated in human music<\/p>\n<p>Papers should be presented and posters written in English and must not<br \/>\nhave been previously published. The final decision on the category<br \/>\nwill be made by the scientific committee.<br \/>\nPaper presentations must not exceed the limit of 20 minutes. A 10<br \/>\nminute discussion will follow each paper.<br \/>\nFull papers will be submitted after the conference by a date to be<br \/>\nspecified in due course.
