Le colloque est organisé par le laboratoire CRAHAM (UMR 6273) dans le cadre du programme ICHTYA et des travaux du GDRI Zoomathia. Cette rencontre prend place dans le cycle de colloques La Normandie Médiévale organisé en partenariat par l’Office Universitaire d’Études Normandes et le Centre Culturel International de Cerisy-la-Salle.

We propose to consider depictions and descriptions of animals as methods of inquiry in and of themselves, rather than illustrations of knowledge ex post facto.

The confirmed key-note speakers will be Łukasz Niesiołowski-Spano (Uniwersytet Warszawski), Fred S. Naiden (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Ioanna Patera (Paris). The conference programme (see below) includes two forms of meetings: the public lectures and workshop sessions. Due to the seminary character of the workshops only restricted number of participants will take part.
